Reaction to Sgt. Kevin Albanese and Trooper David Aresco's presentation
My initial reaction to Sgt. Albanese and Trooper Aresco's presentation was that I was concerned. Not necessarily concerned for myself, but for the millions of people on social networking sites that put immense amounts of personal information on their profiles. I was concerned because many of Facebook users, for instance, are completely ignorant to the fact that their photos can be stripped directly from their profiles and used as an ad or something of that nature. Also, I was highly disturbed at the frequency of child exploitation on the internet. I feel as though men and women who partake in the exploitation of children should be fined and imprisoned for much longer than the law requires. As the officers said, many of the people whom engage in the exploitation of minors often times are doing something far worse. Whether that something is molestation etc. I think that these people should be punished to the full extent possible under each and every circumstance.
I agree that the people who exploit children should go to jail for much longer than they do under the current law. Their presentation really made me think that the internet isn't as safe of a place as I originally thought it was. Anything and everything you post can be found by someone if they want to find that information.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that those who exploit children should go to jail for much longer than the current sentence. I was also concerned because I was unaware about how easily it was for someone to hack into your computer and turn on your webcam and how open you are on the internet
ReplyDeleteSome people might just be concerned about their own safety but I like how you pointed out that you should also be concerned about other people's safety. I'm sure that there are my kids that are probably only 10 or 11 going on the interent and giving out private information. Those are the people who really should be educated about the importance of interent safety.
